The Actes Board has continued to fund the town wide work clubs as part of their charitable objectives. The aim of the work clubs is to provide information, advice and guidance to residents of Middlesbrough to help them move closer to or into employment.
Actes works in partnership with Middlesbrough Council who provide access to venues and Job Centre Plus who provide small amounts of funding for laptops and promotional materials, to deliver the service Monday to Friday.
The work clubs operate daily at various venues with mornings free for clients to ‘drop in’ while the afternoons are for individual appointments.
The work clubs provide support in:
-
Job Journey Planning and job searching techniques
-
CV development, interview skills and mock interviews
-
Setting up e-mails and Universal Job Match access
-
Signposting to other opportunities such as volunteering
