Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) – Advocate

YEI Advocates (37hrs a week) – £18,000 Pro Rata – To support a caseload of Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) participants to help them build resilience, overcome barriers to economic inclusion and move towards sustainable employment and financial wellbeing.  To contribute to the development and successful delivery of the YEI programme and a ‘one team’ approach, so that participants receive a high-quality, holistic service which enables them to prosper and fulfil their potential. This role will largely concentrate on the administration part of the delivery as well as a small caseload.

This post is temporary contract initially for 3 months with the possibility of extension until 31 July 2018 and is subject to a DBS check. Closing date for applications is 4:30 pm on Friday 28th July 2017.

The Youth Employment Initiative (YEI) is an EU funded programme to help unemployed 15-29 year olds improve their skills and move into employment, training or education.

Receptionist (casual)

We are currently looking for a casual receptionist to work between the Acklam Green Centre and Resource Centre.  The post will provide an excellent reception function and customer service to new and existing customers in a busy business and community centre.  Duties will include dealing with telephone, email and face to face enquiries from members of the public and external organisations referring as appropriate, photocopying, typing and basic administrative tasks.  The post will be responsible for assisting in room setups, delivering refreshments to rooms and providing a welcoming environment for all customers. 

The hourly rate is minimum wage relevant to age. This contract is on a casual basis and will provide cover for annual leave and sickness as well as supporting on busy days. The closing date for this post is 4pm on Friday 21st July 2017. The post is subject to a full DBS disclosure.

 

Café/Catering Assistant – 4 hours per week (Saturdays) – fixed term for 6 months initially

Actes are looking for a Café/Catering Assistant to work in a busy café environment based at its Acklam Green Centre site.  The Acklam Green Centre is a business and community centre that provides a quality catering service to its business customers. The busy café is also open to members of the public and this post would work 5 hours per week on Saturdays, mainly serving café customers with food and confectionary items and occasionally buffets/catering for weekend meetings.  The post would not be supervised on Saturdays so must be able to use their own initiative and have experience in a similar café/catering environment.  A catering qualification is preferred but not essential. 

The Café/Catering Assistant will work every Saturday, 9.30am – 1.30pm.  There may also be additional hours available for annual leave cover and to support large catering events. The salary is at the minimum wage rate.  The contract is on a fixed term basis for 6 months initially. The closing date for this post is 4pm on Friday 21st July 2017.

 

Café/Catering Supervisor – 37 hours per week

We are looking for a cafe supervisor to be based in Café Connect at the Acklam Green Centre who is passionate about food and excellent customer service. You should have significant recent experience of working in the café and/or catering industry and have the ability to cook a variety of lunchtime options.  The supervisor would run a very busy kitchen with minimal supervision and coordinate the provision of an excellent catering service to business meetings ranging from 10 people to 150 people as well as the smooth running of Café Connect.  The post will be responsible for supervising staff members, ordering supplies and ensuring the kitchen continues to retain it’s 5* hygiene accreditation.

The successful candidate will be of smart appearance and be able to provide excellent customer service as well as having a friendly and professional manner.  A catering qualification is essential and recent management or supervisory experience is desirable.

The Café/Catering Supervisor will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.  The rate of pay is £8.20 / hour. The closing date for this post is 4pm on Friday 21st July 2017.
